- Hemp
can produce 250% more fiber than cotton, on the same amount of land. It
is softer and more durable.
-
Hemp does not need pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides to grow. It
is naturally weed and bug resistant. Traditional cotton growing
accounts for 10% of world pesticide consumption and 25% insecticide
use.
- Hemp does not need fertilizer or much water, and replenishes
nutrients in the soil through leaf shedding and deep taproots. Cotton
uses 1/3lb of fertilizer to produce just one tee shirt, leeches soil of
nutrients and uses too much water.
- Hemp is naturally resistant to mold and UV light, making it great
outdoors
and on the boat. It is 3 times the tensile strength as cotton,
warmer and will not stretch. Cotton harbours moisture which promotes
mold growth and allergens.

to 7 percent less chemicals to break down the glue like lignin that
binds the pulp fibers.
-
Hemp is a lighter and stronger material than lumber. Hemp fiberboard
produced by Washington State University was found to be twice as strong
as wood based fiber board.
- Hemp seed contains all the essential amino acids neceesary to maintain
a healthy life. 65% of the protein is globulin edestin, more digestable
than any other plant protein. It is also the highest source of
essential fatty acids in the entire plant kingdom.
- Hemp is not marijuana and attempting to smoke it will get you sick. It
even contains an antipcychoactive ingredient called cannabidiol. This
inhibits THC, the active ingrediant in marijuana.
